Established
in 1961, Ralph's Fishing Station & Marina has become home to
many boaters and fishermen. Owned and operated by the Davenport
and Corey families, Ralph's hosts several events throughout the
year to support the community. Our Annual Alzheimer's Benefit
was established to commemorate Ralph Davenport, who died of Alzheimer's
in 2001.
The Alzheimer's Association speaks for more than 4 million people
who have Alzheimer's disease and related dementias and for the 19
million family members who care for them. It is the largest
national voluntary health organization dedicated to Alzheimer's
research; to providing support and assistance to people with dementia,
their families, and caregivers; and to advocating for affordable,
quality Alzheimer care.
With continued
support and generousity from our local community, we have raised
$188,000 in eight years for The Alzheimer's Association of LI.
We have many fundraising activities taking place throughout the
day, including prize raffles, 50/50 raffles, a dunk tank, chicken
drop and games. Come enjoy food, drinks and live music on
our deck.
This year
we hosted our first annual golf outing. This event was held
at Hamlet Willow Creek and Country Club in Mt. Sinai. We were
able to raise an additional $7,000 towards our donations to the
Alzheimers Association.
